FAT JOE vs. MR. TWO POUND

One of my first ventures into the world of eating as a hobby came after watching an episode of Man vs. Food….

Adam Richman traveled to the Round Rock/Austin area to take on  a breakfast  challenge….but in the course of the show he stopped at Round Rock Donuts, home of a two-pound donut….I was impressed…..now it never shows him eating the glazed monster…

With The Wife working in Round Rock….could anything be more obvious??

On my next trip to Round Rock….I had to have this donut….

We got up early on a Saturday morning and headed for the Home of the donut As Big As Your Head…

There were actually two choices with this donut…regular glazed or chocolate glazed…and it  took me a few minutes to decide….but in the end I, with advice from The Wife, chose the regular glazed because of the intimidation of all that chocolate sitting on a donut that is the equivalent of a  dozen donuts…

MR. TWO POUND... GOES DOWN....

We took my prize back to her apartment and I readied myself for what was going to be my first bout with food….I grabbed a knife and fork and sat on the couch….before me was the two pounder…it taunted me….mocked me….and generally called me a wuss….

I cut into the sugar shiny golden skin and brough the first bite to my mouth….it melted in my mouth….and I thought….”This is good….I’ll be knocking this out in just a few minutes”….

HAHA….not so fast Fat Joe….

30 minutes into my quest….I was about 3/4 through….and each bite was becoming more difficult than the last…but I was committed….I think at that time The Wife was considering having me committed….

It wasn’t until the 55 minute mark that I speared the last morsel and with a shaking hand brought it home….I chewed and chewed and chewed and forced it down….

On this particular Saturday morning…Man won….

Now, Mr. Two Pound….who’s the wuss??
